Louise Arbour French Immersion PS
2025-2026 Safe and Inclusive School Plan
Our school is committed to providing all students with a safe, caring, and inclusive learning environment free from bullying and harassment that promotes respect, acceptance, and empathy.
Staff, students, parents and caregivers, and community partners will work together as a team to help make our school safe and welcoming for everyone.
The Safe and Inclusive School Plan highlights some of the key actions that our school community will put in place as part of our bullying prevention and intervention efforts.
Key Priorities and Goals
This year we are continuing to focus on building respectful and healthy peer-to-peer relationships, by honouring diversity, and understanding the power of our words, both in-person and online.
We are doing this to provide students with the knowledge to better understand the impact of word choice, and the tools to effectively problem solve social conflicts with their peers so that all students feel safe, understood, and accepted.
Key Actions or Strategies
- Facilitate discussions to foster healthy relationships and conflict resolution techniques using Restorative Practices.
- Reinforce through announcements, newsletters, and special events.
- Engage with community partners to foster a deeper understanding of how to build healthy relationships.
- Plan for ongoing parent education regarding student online behaviours and safety practices.
Community and Home Connections
- Ask your child about what makes them a good friend and what they value in others.
- Encourage your child to use positive and respectful words and ask them how they may resolve conflicts by using appropriate word choices.
- Try creating a word wall at home with positive and respectful words that your child can use to develop positive peer-to-peer relationships.
- Check out this resource: TVDSB Family Well-being Community Workshop Series, which has been created specifically to support parents and caregivers from multiple community agencies.
